El Dorado Resorts Misrepresentation of Timeshare

Stay clear of "free" show tickets when in Las Vegas from any of the suits in the casinos or on the street. Does the word TIMESHARE ring a bell. They neglect to inform you that this is a tour for a timeshare and not a "new resort" for whatever casino you happen to be in at the time. There is no planned development with trams etc. They do not have a service as they claimed to transport you to and from the strip.

Do not enter into any business transaction with these people. Do notget on their fraud bus.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE, YOU HAVE 5 DAYS TO GET OUT OF IT. They neglect to mention the cancellation period. It was never pointed out to us on the contract or the extra forms that were required to be mailed if we chose to cancel.

A deposit was required to take the "free" tour. They want a credit card up front. Too bad we only had cash on us. The cash was not refunded as they led us to believe. It came back to us included on the gambling card as part of our "prize." Not in cash to be spent anywhere in any casino, only usable in their casinos. Free cruise - no mention of the FEES attached and that it had to be booked within 30 days so we didn't use it. Too bad they didn't tell us that at the counter. We would have opted for another prize package.

We were asked to lie about our annual salary to take the tour and receive our free gifts. If we didn't show up for the bus, we would forfeit our deposit. We waited almost 45 minutes to even board the bus.

The tour lasted at least 4 maybe even 5hours. We told our salesperson we would not be able to afford this and heignored this comment, told us to just put a ballpark figure down on theloan application.

While going through the contract we were stuck in a small room by thebathrooms with constant interruptions from the hallway traffic and our salesperson. Duringthe signing we were rushed through the contract. We were told no worries its a standard contract.

The pitch regarding the "extra" weeks package. We were told we could use these extra weeks anytime anywhere. Never mentioned that there are only certain resorts and certain locations where these can be used, and only during certain times of the year. We were not provided this information, it came in the mail almost 45 days after signing. We were told we could bank these "extra weeks" for up to 3 years as long as we were in good standing with RCI. We were never told this package is ONLY GOOD for 3 years no matter what.

We were told we could convert the unit to points so we could use the points for cruises. RCI says you must do this through the Resort and the Resort says you must do this through RCI. This resort according to RCI is weeks only - NO points. We were told we would get great discounts with RCI for rental cars, airfare and cruises. Just an FYI any AARP, senior, and military discounts are just as good if not better.

Salesperson told us that all maintenance fees and subscription fees were paid in full for the year. We purchased in March, fees due in June. We were unable to occupy at Vegas since we had just been there, so we used the resorts form and banked the weeks with RCI. Now RCI does not show weeks being banked.in less than a year of ownership we have a second maintenance fee due for 2010. We were fed the line that the fees wouldn't go up since the resort was new. Well we have an increase.

We were told outright we could rent out the unit however we wanted and make lots of money doing it. Bank our weeks and pay for the unit within 3 years. Salesperson neglected some facts like you have to fill out your intentions on an owner's form, pay the maintenance fees and the resort gets a share.

We were told family and friends could use the resort during our week. Never told us one of the owners had to be present to do this. We were told we could exchange and book people into other resorts anywhere in the world. Advertise on Craig's List or E-Bay. Work it like a travel agency. Our salesman conveniently knew a lady that is doing this and making so much money she no longer has a full-time job.

We were misled that we can use our week whenever we want to go anywhere in the world. Not according to RCI. If you want to go where you want, when you want, you will have to book a year in advance and of course have PAID your maintenance fees in full.

Do not disclose that you are military or a person interested in going into business for themselves. They used this information to mislead us to think we were getting a great investment. Because we were affiliated with the mililtary and the floor boss or manager or notary or whatever had just lost her nephew to the war - WE GOT THE BEST DEAL.

While on the tour of the resort itself, we were told to keep our voices down by our salesman. He would get in trouble if other perspective buyers heard how great a deal we were going to get. We would be putting our great deal in jeapardy if the anyone else knew. He even had the nerve to hush us when we were asking questions in the sales area. So bottom line, we didn't get answers to questions we asked, we were fed a line of bull.

We were led to believe that if we did not like the timeshare, we could sell it back to the resort. Nope - they have no resale program. They will not buy it back.
