I fell for the scam finding the advertisement for fru in the american baby magazine. Thinking american baby would check out who they are letting advertise in their magazine. I went ahead and requested info from fru. All seemed fine, i sent 3 weeks worth of money and spent over $1000. Whenever i contacted fru via email, i always received a response to my answers.
Based in illinois myself, i had my husband go and see if 7000 adams st existed, it did. It's a big office with people working in there. He didn't go in, but i felt confident that this was a legitmate business. When i contacted fru to see about payment for my flyers, i got blown off. They deleted all of my emails without even reading them.
I'm out $1000 because of my own stupidity. I have contacted the better busines bureau and they are researching. I have also filed a complaint with the attorney general lisa madigan for the state of illinois. They did respond stating they are looking into my complaint.
I will sue them if i don't get my money back. This has to stop. We are all hard working people who don't deserve to have our money taken from us. Maybe we are too trusting. There is a lot of slime out there. I will never again do this. Hard lesson to learn, but i will get my money back no matter what.
