They called pretending to be from Verizon. I asked 3 times and asked why they had to call about a mandatory change. The woman lied convincingly and wasted my time. She said she was from Verizon and that Verizon would be sending an informational packet about the long-distance change they are making naionwide in a few days. She said they were required to call to inform us of the change and that no changes to my contract or calling plan would occur due to the phone call. After the call, I called the customer service number they provided & the guy who answered admitted they were a separate company from Verizon and that the woman who called works for his company as well and had lied about working for Verizon. Calling businesses, wasting our time, falsely identifying themselves, and lying, is not an ethical way for any company to practice. It is unethical and disrespectful behavior.
