I found cr england on the internet and gave them a call in early september. I was told i would be offered a company drivers position or i could lease a truck from the company. I told the recruiter i had no intention on leaseing a truck. The recruiter led me to believe that there was a company drivers position waiting for me after recertification of my cdl. My 3yrs experience in the late 90's was too old and things have changed in the trucking industry. I went to the school with previous experience and did'nt have any problem completing. I went on the road and while there spoke to the tc (training coordinator) and was told that there was not going to be any company driver positions available because cr england was cutting those positions, that after 30 days i would have the opportunity to lease a truck with them. I continued to drive in a training status until i spoke to one of the dm (driver manager) and he said i could be waiting from 5 to 7 weeks for a company position. I was then routed to salt lake city and reported to my tc. He asked me then if i wanted to lease a truck, that i could begin the process that day. I answered him "no not yet", i'm undecided. Is there any company driver positions available? I asked, he replied no. At this point i made the difficult decision to leave the company. It was costing me more to live on the road with 40 dollars, the most i got paid in a week after deductions. How was i gonna live in a salt lake city truck yard without any pay. I would have to live on nothing because cr england does'nt pay you to be in the slc yard waiting for a company job. I made the decision to get back on the truck and find a way to n.C. On a load because i had no bus ticket money. I had exhausted all my resources at home feeding myself. I explained this to the dm and he told me to eat romain noodles and peanut butter. I guess he did'nt hear me tell him i had no money. I could'nt keep going on with their bs. What kind of people are mormons? What a con game, whats the world coming to when people are able to get away with things like they are? Wow, no wonder its a full body search when you go into the offices. What do they do when they leave there? Its only a matter of time before they jerk the wrong person. Retaliation i fear not, only a coward would steal, con and lie like this and hide behind armed guards. To the innocent ones, get out of there. Utah is a state i'll always remember.
