Attorney Steven Carter (former Judge) of Westminster Colorado was the person hired to help with my elderly mother.
The course of events were as follows:
The siblings demanded that their plan of spending her money and put her in a home prematurely without her knowledge be carried out immediately.
The siblings made my mother leave her home as soon as I left for a short period of time to attend my son's wedding and return.
Attorney Steven Carter told me that if I took my mother to the wedding that the siblings would charge me with kidnapping. So with that said, I had to leave her disappointed. Mom and I had shopped for a dress, which I purchased for her. This was a sad moment for us.
None of the siblings and their family attended my son's wedding. We did not deserve that treatment from them!
The siblings took my pet Jenna, who was keeping mother company while I was away. She was placed in a home by them where she died. I am a widow, living alone and she was my special companion.
Attorney Steven Carter agreed to put an outside court appointed conservator in place to set all in rightful order for Mother
Day of court - He assigned one of the siblings!!!
The siblings would NOT allow me to see her or speak to her freely for a year and 1/2.
Siblings were charging mother up to $5K a month to stay at her home. Mother was in good physical and helping them in the home. She WAS NOT AWARE that they were taking her money.
When mother was placed in a home, I drove from San Diego to visit her. The new conservator, my brother who was appointed by attorney Carter, made himself an emergency guardian so that he could enforce my departure immediately from the home and our visit. I was not allowed to say goodby to her at all.
Another time I drove to where she was staying with a sibling and was refused a number of times during two days at the door. I left my gift at the door.
I had to hire an attorney to help me get the ability to see my mother and take care of new offensive situations that occurred
One sibling, fraudulently took my name off her home so the conservator could sell it for themselves.
That same sibling again fraudulently signed my name of of mothers car to sell it.
I attended many court hearings on the different issues, traveling back and forth.
I finally was allowed to visit with my mother at the home. The siblings made any visit very difficult in what ever way possible!
Items that I would bring Mother or photo's of my children and their children were always removed when I left. I had to demand them back and did not get them all.
MOTHER ONLY HAD A COUPLE OF ITEMS OF CLOTHING WHEN I FIRST CAME TO SEE HER AT THE HOME. I bought her needed items when i visited every 3 to 4 months.
My attorney fees were accumulating to an outrageous amount
All of the above could have been avoided if attorney steven carter did not give the conservatorship to one of the siblings. Giving that authority allowed the siblings to do all of the above.
Attorney steven carter caused this to happen by changing his appointment of conservator the day of court!!!
I tried to tell him what would happen. He refused to listen and stated that he is not on the case and would not accept any more contact regarding the case.
He washed his hands from all he caused.
I have been told numerous times that the siblings only visit when they know I am coming to see mother.
The conservator, my brother, has left order that I not be called if mother fails and that my name & number be taken off the records. However, I know this will not be carried out.
The conservatory attorney Mr. Guest was not ethical and constructed an affidavit to protect himself.
Where is the justice, ethics, morals, honesty, compassion, concern in this mans character???
I truly believe this injustice committed will be judged by god.
