The first time I met Michael Henry was in 1999. He was marketeering a fantastic Golf product produced by a ligitimate company in San Marcos, Ca. He was selling Authorized Dealerships to potential golfers who wanted to own their own golf business. The cost was $8500.00. He took their money and then didn't deliver on the deal and walked away from the company without paying anyone the commission earned.
The next time I saw him, he was setting up his own golf business with his wife, Melba, and Michael Henry's mother in law, and Tito, Melba's uncle. Apparently, Melba is related to the former President of Equador. The mother in law had money! Henry set up the golf company at the corner of El Camino Real and Farraday. There were 45 sales people on the phones selling these golf clubs. Most of the employees were ripped off for their commissions in excess of $500-$2000.00. This company was called Great 18 golf technologies. He would offer, via telephone, a full set of pro tour custom fitted golf clubs to golfers nationwide on a 90 day "buy-back". Dozens and dozens of golf clubs were returned by many people. They were never credited back their funds. The merchant account was shut down. All salespeople pay checks, including mine bounced. My child support was being deducted each week from my paycheck, (due to wage garnishment) but was never sent in for 8 months to the tune of $8,000. He then sold the company to a Mark Botta whom you can Google and get the low-down on him as well. Mr. Botta paid Michael Henry and an investor with moldy cash, approx. $200,000. I smelled it my self. It turns out that Mr. Mark Botta owned a company in L.A. That was supposedly to cremate bodies that he collected representing the coroners office. They discovered 15 barrels of human ashes behind his office in Orange county that were accumulated over a period of years and never taken out to sea for proper burial. He was sued by the county for over $1,000, 000. Mr. Botta then proceeded to start another Golf colmpany called Tsunami Golf and did the exact same thing.
No one knew this until we discovered it on the internet in 2001. I am writing this because I am still having to deal with the child support issue to this day because of all of this. When I confronted Mark Botta about my child support not being paid, he wrote a check to the San Diego Co. District Atty's Office for the back payment. I also lost my drivers' license because of this as well. Not only did the $8,000.00 check bounce when I confronted him about it, I had to make his check good plus catch up on the back payments which now put it at $16,000. When I started with the company as a salesman, I was current on my payments! My kids are now grown. With interest accrued over the years it is now over $34,000. These two con men, Michael Henry and Mark Botta destoyed my life for many years.
The only thing I really regret is having to write this at all. I fell for the lines of BS from Michael Henry hook, line and sinker! He's a genius at marketing products and is truely a good salesman if he didn't lie constantly. This man needs mental help. I feel sorry for all the people he is still scamming. I know how you all feel, too! There is much more that I know about this guy! I too spoke to the F.B.I. They contacted me! I sang like a bird! This guy ruined a good portion of my life by taking money that should have gone to my kids. Good luck in finding this very elusive man. You will never see him driving. He has no license. The last I heard, he was talking about doing something with Brent Hudson of the Hudson Brothers TV show. He was also doing some business with Erik Cohen, the writer and creator of "The Golden Girls". I just hope they saw through this guy and didn't give him any money!
By the way, I'm a Grandfather, and still having to deal with the CS issue. I'm pissed!
