See report from prior individual. Well produced scam is right. The door-to-door representative is super polished and practiced. He has a professional name tag, clip board with official paperwork, etc. He says he is in a job retraining position and must earn a quota's worth of points or he will loose his job. He earns points by 1) selling magazines or 2) taking $20 or $40 cash donations that are used to purchase books for needy children (shows addresses of organizations that are the recipients of these books). All this is to both get himself more employable and that much more a productive member of society and to support his family (which he shows a picture of). He is very personable and a very talented presenter. He names your neighbor (s) and tells you they have just bought magazines from him.
I've learned from a report posted previously that these are sales people from out of state that move through the area quickly, take orders and are never heard from again.
They tell you they cannot accept a cash donation for their company, but ask for cash in lieu of magazine orders for a 'gold' or 'platinum' package for books that are distributed to poor children through six or so agencies they list.
Wish I would've seen the report on this site... Hope others will benefit from an additional complaint.
