Customer Service Reps are actually agressive Sales people

I saw the Walkfit Platinum informercial on TV and when I called, I opted for an automated ordering system because I did not want to bother with Sales people.in addition to ordering the main product, Walkfit Platinum, the automated ordering phone service asked many additional questions about purchasing additional products and was originally thankful that I could easily decline all those offers (including free trials) that I was not interested in and didn't have to convince a sales person that I really wasn't interested.

I ordered 5 pairs of Walk Fit Platinums (all for me) and as I was entering the sizes, the automated system would confirm the sizes I entered. Since all of the sizes were supposed to be either sizes 8 1/2 and 9, it was very odd that although I punched in the correct sizes each time, 2 of the 5 sizes were incorrect (the automated system incorrectly logged in the sizes I entered: one Size 5 and one Size 10 was repeated by the automated phone system). I quickly realized that there was no way to edit the sizes using that automated phone system.

Since I ordered the 5 pairs on a Sunday, I waited to early morning on Monday to call Customer Service, which was 1st business day they were opened since they were closed on Sunday. After I called, the rep told me that the items have already been processed and shipped and that I needed to call back when the shipment arrives to request any refund and return the products; however, the rep. Did not let me get off the phone without trying to sell me more products but I told them that I didn't want any more charges to my account at this time.

Once I received the shipment, I called back Customer Service as was instructed and they said they would process a refund and that I could keep the incorrect sizes if I ordered more pairs at a discounted price so I then ordered the correct sizes to replace the incorrect sizes. Towards the end of the conversation, the cust service rep would not let me hang up the phone politely as he was interrogating me to buy 2 more gel inserts after I specifically said "No" to him 3 or 4 times. I finally said "Yes" just to get him off the phone. When did Customer Service Reps become aggressive Sales People?

Finally, a week passes by and I call back to check on my refund that I still had not received credit for on my credit card, only to have another sales person (I mean customer service rep)... He felt like a sales rep rather than a customer service rep... Want to sell me more inserts. At that point, I had enough and pleaded that he just leave me alone and hung up the phone.

I think there is a big conflict of interest to have Cust Service reps aggressively sell products. Additionally, I have a feeling the whole thing is a ploy.By not being able to edit your options or incorrect logging by the system when using the phone system and by telling you to call back every time are ploys to get you to call as many times as possible so that every call is a sales call and get another order shipped at a supposed discounted price, even if you really, really don't want anything else. I don't know if the product is good yet... But I don't think I ever want to call their Cust Service department ever again or order another product from them ever again. I'd rather pay more money on orthotics my doctor recommends than have to go through this ordeal ever again. Buyers Beware!!!
