I would like to warn people about Christi Harmon and her kennels. Our puppy is a newfoundland puppy we received in early 2008 from Christi Harmon. The puppy has a great personality and we love her dearly. Unfortunately, what happens with a puppy from a puppy mill is that you can't see what is happening to them on the inside as the puppies are growing. The greatest danger for the dogs from a puppy mill is around the overbreeding and genetic issues that come from these puppies. Christi's dogs are classic genetic nightmares.
With the puppy we got from Christi, the poor thing has such a poor bone structure from overbreeding that she has already had 2 TPLO's (ACL knee repairs) and one total hip replacement... All before the age of 18 months!
Our biggest guilt is not from purchasing from what we didn't know was a puppy mill at the time.instead our largest guilt comes from actually giving Christi a good reveiw after we received our puppy. We apologize to anyone that purchased a puppy and perpetuated Christi's puppy mill from our good reivew or recommendation. We didn't know that our puppy was a genetic nightmare. At the time, we only commented on the great personality of the newfoundland that we had just received.
Our only other regret is that we did not rescue the bother of our puppy named "Manhattan". We are guessing that this puppy is no longer alive since most people can't afford to get the required surgeries that this dog would have needed to stay alive.
Please help us all prevent Christi from ever opening up her kennels again!
