Scams

Just as other people have mentioned, I received a letter from Augmentity Marketing yesterday about being a Consumer Service Evaluator. I called the number on the letter and actuall spoke to someone named "Patrick Mills." He went through the process of explaining what the job would entail, etc. After talking to him, I looked up the company on the Internet and found reports listed under this site about this company. I also looked up the name of the company on the check, "Fire King International". They are a company that is listed with a website. I looked up the bank listed on the check "Sovereign Bank" and spoke to one person who said the account number on the check was not a real account. They transferred me to their fraud department and the person I spoke to there said this was a real account but the amount - $2,966.00, would not clear. I asked them if the company on the check is aware of this scam and they said yes. What I don't understand is if the bank knows this account is a fraudilent account, why is it still open? I also went to the Better Business Bureau on line and logged a compliant against this company since on their letter, they list they are an accredited business by the Better Business Bureau. I suggested they post these kinds of companies so when people look them up, they will know they are scams.
