Um... I had a sales rep for AMP come to my door today, and without introducing himself or who he was with or what he was doing on my porch, began to ask me questions about my neighborhood and solicit me to post a sign in my yard. Claimed i'd be "paid" if I posted a sign in my yard. Payment was $1200 in alarm equipment made by Honeywell. He kept glancing over his shoulder and looked nervous, and then proceeded to ask " Do you live here alone?" This a most inappropriate question to ask. I quickly cut him off without answering the question and told him i didn't appreciate him on my porch without his introduction and company name. All he said was, " oh, sorry, i'm with AMP..." (flipped his badge over real quick and back again) And then i asked who AMP was and he stated " Just a distribution company for Honeywell" He had originally stated that neither of my neighbors on the end of the block were home and that is where they prefer to post signs, (giving only 2 people the opportunity for "payment") But later proceeded to tell me that if i changed my mind to look for the sign at my neighbor house (whom wasn't home), because he was getting one.
Certainly suspicious. He didn't offer a card or even product information.
... Maybe i should report him to the police???
