A woman came to my door on a Saturday and gave me a speech about bettering her life. She invited herself to sit down, showed me signatures of people who she made prior sales to and showed me a list of magazines. I was a little flustered because I was in the middle of dealing with housework, a child and a dog. I felt pressured and wanted her to leave so I ordered a subscription. I was given a receipt that stated that I had 3 business days to cancel my transaction (this is required under consumer protection law) via mail or email. First thing Monday morning, I scanned the receipt & "cancellation form" and emailed it in. I received confirmation that my email was sent successfully. Eight days later, my check was cashed anyway. I should have put a stop payment on it.
These people are total scam artists. The only "bettering" they are doing is finding better ways to separate people from their hard earned dollars! Don't be afraid to seem rude—tell these people to GET LOST! And to the rebutter on the other post, there is no confusion, this is Destiny Sales INC. - Incorporated not LLC.
