Motor Cars Direct
Ripped off and misprepresented!

Motor Cars Direct originally sold me a 2002 BMW that had been in a major accident which they failed to disclose at the time of sale. I took the car in to several different body shops to get expert opinion, both the BMW dealership - body shop and independent body shops. I was told by all of the body shops that the car had been in a major accident and it was reconstructed very poorly!

I got in contact with Motor Cars Direct immediately and asked for my refund, however they refused to do so. Out of desperation and not wanting to go to court, I agreed if they could find me a similar BMW I would be willing to consider and compromise. After going back and forth between San Diego and Irvine 5-6 times and getting hassled by the people at this dealership, two weeks later they finally told me they had found me another 2002 BMW almost identical basically, except that I would would owe $2000 Dollars more.

I initially wasn't planning on spending as much as I did with the second BMW due to my budget. Immediately when I drove off their lot with the second BMW I noticed the ABS - Airbag - Traction Control light all come on. At this time I was on my way to their service shop for an oil change that they had promised. At the service shop I spoke with one of mechanics named Jim and he told me, this should be taken care of you!

I called Motor Cars Direct back immediately and spoke with Tim Sladeck the sales person and told him about the problem. He basically told me it's done deal and you're on your own. Motor Cars Direct has stickers on all of the cars on their lot that state: Safety OK & Smog OK, which I have taken picture of and kept for evidence purposes. This however is not accurate as it wasn't in my case!

This car that was sold to me is UNSAFE to be driven on streets and on the highway because the wheels lock when you try to come to a stop sometimes! The other day while trying to come to a stop at a traffic light, the wheels locked on the car which almost caused for a semi-truck to rear end me from behind!

I took the car in to the BMW dealership and they gave me an estimate for repairs in the amount of $1900 Dollars! Not to mention the time I had to take off from work to travel between San Diego and Irvine. I am very irate with this dealership and I feel they have fraud me out of my money by misrepresenting to me.
