I did a reverse look up on the phone # above to obtain the scammer's name and address, it's Ed Shewman, in Cape Coral, FL. An Eddie from National Affidavit Processing called me and left a message on my work voice mail. I called him back at 813-283-0610 (another # he left was 786-522-0539). He told me that he was calling from an attorney's office because I owed a debt to CashUSA for $502.00 (he was very hard to understand, he had a heavy foreign accent). He was very nasty to me and loud, telling me that I took a pay day loan in June for $300.00 and didn't pay it back and now I owe $502.00 to them and now I'm being sued by them. I told him I don't owe any money, and he told me that I better get a lawyer and try to prove it in court. He told me "you people take a loan and don't pay it back, see what happens". What really spooked me is that he told me my sister's name, and that I put her on the application as a reference. He told me that I needed to settle my debt, or within 1 hour he was going to file the law suit.
I told him to send me something in writing. He told me he couldn't send me something, how could he send something about a law suit. At this point I thought it was a scam. I asked him for a phone # of the payday loan company, CashUSA, he gave me 813-388-4936. I called it, the person who answered had a heavy foreign accent. I asked if I had an outstanding debt. He immediately asked for my social security number so he could look it up, I did not give it to him, I told him he was a scammer and he hung up on me. Beware, they somehow obtained personal information about me (my sister's name) and almost had me believing I owed this money.
