I hired Fred G Glantz to represent me in auto accident case. The case was an easy one with police report explaining who is at fault, with defendant taking the fault, with a huge car damage showing who is at fault, with all the pictures explaining the fault, etc. Very easy case. I could have even done it myself and get paid through an opposing insurance company in no longer than few months, maybe faster. I wish I did on my own. I just thought that hiring an attorney would be easier and faster. He took my report and said that this case is easy and shouldn't take long to close. It's been 2 years already. 1. He didn't file all the needed paperwork on time. 2. He didn't return any of my calls. 3. When I called to talk to him, his secretary kept telling me that he doesn't want to talk to me without an appointment, but when I wanted to schedule an appointment, she kept telling me that he is too busy. 4. When I would just show up in his office hoping to talk to him about my case, his secretary would tell me that he doesn't want to see me. Months would go by and I still would have no information about my case. NONE whatsoever. He rejected 3 different offers from an opposing insurance company without my consent and without notifying me (I found out this later). I only was finding out in the letters from his secretary that he rejected all 3 offers without my knowledge. When I finally got so upset that I told the secretary to tell him that I want to take the last offer offered by the insurance company, she said that he rejected that one too because he thinks it's better that way. Better for whom? There is a law that offer cannot be rejected without first communicating it to the client. Now, I finally figured out why he was doing all this. He wanted to take the case into litigation (trial), which gives him more money of the check after the case is closed. So, the longer he drags the case, the more money he can charge from the client in costs and fees. And if the case goes into litigation, he can get instead of initial 33% of the final check, he gets 40%. So, obviously he told me that the insurance company doesn't want to settle and he took my good and easy case into litigation. FINALLY, I got tired of his crap and all the tears that he put me through, and I told his secretary after 2 years of this nightmare that if he doesn't call the opposite insurance company and doesn't take the money they are offering, I am reporting him to the California BAR Association. Of course he did it, but because the case was dragging for so long, I got so little money that it was not even worth it. He took 40% plus costs and fees, which I have no idea what they were for. He did NOTHING on my case and just stole the largest portion of the check. PLEASE, stay away from this attorney if you don't want to be taken through hell.
