Sophia Beatrice DeBord went to meet the Lord on Sept 26, due to tragic circumstances. She was just 23 months old. Kathy Smith was a daycare provider for Sophia for the first year of her life. Upon Sophia's death Kathy went around to local businesses stating she was Sophia's grandmother, a complete lie, and that she was accepting donations on behalf of the family for funeral arrangements. Upon learning this the family instructed Ms. Smith to cease, as all funeral arrangements, headstone, flowers etc, had already been purchased. Several months after Sophia's passing people began to inform the DeBord family that jars were in local bars around the Chattanooga area for funeral arrangements for Sophia. Ms. Smith provided many excuses as to what happened, never coming forward with any money. Suntrust however did have a new checking account in her name with many transactions however the account had been empteed. The amount of money or what is was used for is regardless. This piece of trash used a family's tragedy to make money for herself, with no intention of it going to the purpose she collected it for. That is fraud. She used Avon, Mary Kay, her hair salon Fine Designs, and other business "ventures" to screw hundreds of people out of money for this. She is a shameful individual, and I just wanted to get this off my chest, God will handle the rest. Thank you.
