Shop at Home Decorators Collection (HD) with CAUTION; this business is devoid of any customer service. The only reason I ordered a rug from HD to begin with is because the rug I wanted was listed as "Available" or in stock at HD's website; the rug was for my husband's birthday in a couple of weeks. However, when the rug did not ship when HD said it would (I contacted them; HD did not contact me), I was told the ship date for the rug was pushed back another week. When I asked why, the HD associate (I actually spoke with several associates ultimately) couldn't tell me; she indicated that she did not have access to this information, and that for any specific information related to my order, HD would have to get in touch with their vendor who would ultimately be shipping the rug, and that this communication would take up to 3 business days. I explained that I didn't have 3 business days to wait for basic, specific information regarding my order, and that I would need to cancel my order. The HD associate indicated that I could cancel my order, but that it would take up to 3 business days to confirm cancellation of my order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? [You should also know that Home Decorators Collection does not keep "order status" information on their website current]. Feeling like I was caught in some crazy maze, I cancelled my order, looked elsewhere for the rug, which I easily found at another website for $40 cheaper, and will have in time for my husband's birthday.
You should know that many years earlier, I ordered a rug from HD; HD sent me the wrong rug entirely, which I returned. So, you might ask why I went back to Home Decorators Collection. I thought the first situation was simply a fluke and decided to give them a second chance. This second awful experience has underscored to me that Home Decorators Collection is not a customer user-friendly business at all. I will never shop with Home Decorators Collection again.
