First of all I, (we as a company) received a typical sales flyer looking like junk mail. But this one had a welcome letter from keysecureinc.com thanking me (our company) for signing up (which I am only person in company authorized to sign anything, so knew I did not). I had never heard of the company. But the welcome letter stated my phone bill (company phone number) is being billed $39.95 every month. I call their number, and got an answering system.
So I Google keysecureinc.com and found another single owner company, who Keysecureinc.com perpetrated the same fraud of billing his company phone number without permission. Then I did whois on the domain name and seen it is fairy new Feb register by a Bill Case in FL with a hotmail email account. So I call the phone number listed under domain registration name and got his personal answering machine and left message.
Further googling showed this usacomplaints.com site where I am now adding my report. From this site and my phone bill, I learned about OAN services, Inc which bill our phone account for Keysecure Inc.
The major concern here, is this company (Keysecureinc.com) is charging my company phone number without permission AND is supposedly in the business of protecting you from identity theft, which I would be inclined to think he has great power to extract info about a person, as well as appear legit.
SECONDLY, his (Keysecureinc.com) brochure list the www.ftc. Gov URL as one of the benefits of registering for his service. That is very dangerous to most consumers, seeing a GOV domain URL, and presenting their company as an in ID theft business adds validity and possibly higher success to his potential illegal practices of charging phone bills without authorization, and selling software that will have access to all the consumer's ID info, and appearing to be government related.
So I do not want other small business owners to get burned, waste valuable time, dealing with this guy. Of course I will call the phone company, to resolve my problem, will also report to BBB, but in the mean time keysecureinc.com will still be out there possibly ripping off others. So I filed an online complaint with the FTC. Gov at the very url they Keysecureinc.com provided in the brochure.
After my friend reseached entire relationship of this scam, she said it looked like..." There is too much money involved for the indivual consume to recieve protection from bogus third party phone charges." she went on...
"companies like the first are not usualy that owners first scam, he pays the fines and moves on to another scam. Some have even sude the individual and won for hurting their company rep. Companies like OAN Services bill for unethical companies, but becuase they pat the phone companies a lot, the phone companies wont cancle their ability to chage on phone bills. Even after being suide in they continue the same business, same practices. Becuase the money from suite when to government regulating institution. So the one owner company makes a lot, the third party phone billing company makes a lot, the phone company makes a lot, even the goverment makes a lot (in fines), but the vicouse cycles continues and you and I spend our time and money as a result."
So as she says, what can "you and I do" do? Report it on this great site usacomplaints.com
Go to www.ftc. Gov and file a report (maybe if enough people complain, they will do something about it.)
Go to www.bbb.org and file a complaint, so others may avoid the time and money to correct this scam.
File a complain with the fcc 1-888-225-5322
fiel a complain with your phone company (ATT 1-800-288)
Get you money back from OAN Services Inc. 1-800-926-6435 (in the background while on the phone with their call center, you'll hear them handling the hundreds of other complaints, like she said, "it's big business".:)
