Shirley, your experiences with Sweepstakes Clearinghouse, Dallas, Texas is a true and honest statement in-so-far as why you utilize them, and the benefit of thier commitment making sure you receive the merchandise. This company meets the needs for consumers that need to buy low-end merchandise on time, and without interest. It is a great thing! However, underneath the veneer of a good thing, I have asked myself more than once, 'did I get a fair deal?'
Not really! I say! Think about it! They have set prices on most items... Depending on their time of year, what they have and so forth. But, they mix it up often. Now something they say is $889, such as the desktop dell computer; after the $400.00 discount, leaving $389 for the timed payments, or however you wish to pay, is what is left! Great! Unfortuneately when you look at what you get when you have it, one thinks, ' maybe the money could have been saved over time and then just go to a Best Buy (Example used) and purchase the same thing with alot better deal, quality, and warrenty".
At Sw. Clrghse the desktop only comes with 80 gigabytes and a low megahertz processor, Now, at best buy... For example, the same amount of marked down $389 cost, the purchased computer will have 150 or 200 gigabytes and much higer megahertz processing and RAM. So in reality your good deal really is not.
The cost to Sw. Clrnghse is, I bet, less than the $50 to $100 dollars of that $389. So, although a honeset business, they take advantage of consumers that don't compare or see underneath the marketing add becaus they know that most consumers feel better about letting others hold thier money until paid for, instead of saving themselves!
Anyone can save and buy later! Thats what you do with Sweepstakes Cl... Send the money, they hold it until paid, Right... So why not do it yourself and buy quality. And don't forget the automatic $90 to $100 dollar shipping that they dont tell you your paying unless you ask, Which is why the remaining total after the discount is much higher then you though it would be. So, save yourself and buy locally so you don't have to pay postage! But if one does not mind making them rich at the 200 plus percent mark-ups, then they are a great comapany with reps that do help! Why not they earn it!
Saying all of this, I am $50 dollars away from said laptop! I bought the laptop for $300 dollars four years ago and it died a year later. They fixed it once by replacing the mother board. They paid the postage. Two months later it stopped working, and they said the limited warrenty expired. 90 days limited Warnty!
So now I am either going to request other items at the same prices (compressor, tool, ect,) or get the computer for last time and upgrade myself. Because when I looked at recent sales of Computers, I felt stupid because it dawned on me that I could just save the money myself and buy good ones locally. They will let one purchase something else, but be smart and speak to them without anger. Its all about the marketing of your wants and needs, just the way they market for their wants and needs... Our money! They will say anything... So do the same!
