PLLC: A New York Immigration Law Firm Very un professional, unorganized, just out of the school and has no knowledge of handling deportation cases or filing motions

On her website she claims to be very experienced on all immigration aspects. So, I really believed all that. And I hired 'Anna' to file a motion to re-open my Adjustment of status case and to cancel my removal proceedings which was issued. Now Let me share my experience with her law office. Anna runs her law firm with one part time assistant who basically answers phone calls and prepares paper work without any prior knowlege of how to organize the paper work. Anna herself doesn't know how to put them in a nice way to submit.

She charged me for her poor services $600 for every appearnace in the court which I paid total $1200. And $650 for motion to reopen and another $2000 for preparing all the paper work. I wanted give her money order for the INS fee but she wanted to pay her the INS fee, and so I did. At my 2nd hearing, we waited for so long only to know that my file is not with the judge and we won't be able to file motion to re-open until judge sees my file. But my attorney wanted to file anyway, but judge suggested her not to do that until he has the file. So, he advised 'Anna (attorney)' to call the court office to check if they have my file, and if they do then come and submit the motion.

Attorney (Anna) claims she filed the paper work, so I asked her for the reciept and she told me that she did not recieve anything from the judge's office. I insisted that she get some kind of proof that the paper work has been filed. Because with INS you have to have proof for follow up. I sent her several emails and phone calss but no information whatsoever. And at the last minute a month before my court hearing she droped out of my case with a reason that I didn't pay her $600 fee which I owe her. But I agreed to pay her but no matter what she doesn't wanted to go with my case.

At that point I didn't think of anything other then representing myslef in the court. On that hearing, Judge accused me of playing games. I was shocked and not aware why he said, until the judge asked me why I didn't appear for the interview. And when I heard that I was totally shocked and got nervous. I explained the judge that I was not aware and neighter my attorney informed me about any interview. The judge was kind enough to understand my situation and so he gave me another hearing.

After the hearing I called 'Anna (attorney)' to ask her why she failed to inform when I had an interview which was scheduled before she droped out of my case. She never gave me an answer, refused to talk and refused to meet. I became helpless and till now I couldn't talk to her. After all this I realized that Anna has no knowledge of handling deportation cases and filing motions to reopen cases. She is just out of the school. She was a disaster to me. She failed to follow up my case, she droped out of the case with short notice b4 my hearing, and worst thing was she didn't inform us about our GC interview and its costing me time and money. Very bad experience!
