The offer of $100 gift cards to WalMart and a gas card are persuasively pitched with insistence by the telemarketers of VBA and Financial Education of America. When I terminated the process during their required confirmation of my address, etc, they repeatedly called my phone. Three fellows, Michael Fernandez, Alex Fernandez and John Fernandez (all with Indian accents) took turns in trying to convince me why I must (even if I had decided to cancel) continue with the confirmation process. Only when they were convinced that I had canceled the card number I had previously given them (in a naive moment of trust) did they give up. This has been an exasperating experience proving once again that cold-call telemarketers are to be avoided.
