I received an unauthorized bill of $13.79 from ESBI for CoastToCoast Voice, LLC-Vmail monthly fee, together with my regular AT&T bill. I did a bit of research and I've seen others had the same experience.
I called ESBI and complained about the charge. They verified the info on the account and asked me if I new a Sue W% (from a different state).
Of course I didn't. ESBI said they will cancel the service and credit the charges. They also gave me a Conf#.
After that I called AT&T and asked how was this possible. The gave me the usual "we have to forward third party bills" and "there is nothing we can do about it"."What about the old approval proces where I had to be on record for service additions" I said, isn't that in effect anymore? The answer was "I cannot comment on that".
I informed AT&T rep. That I will pay the AT&T service charges only and that was ok. I was promissed the bills from ESBI will be stopped (they didn't need the Conf# for that). I should find the time to report this to BBB.
Somebody should stop these ripoffs (scams)
