D&D Ford And First Extended Warranty
First Extended ripoff, not of any service & D&D Ford rippoff bait&switch tactic of warranty on contract

Read alot of reports on this site re: First Extended Warranty and Ford... Here's our story..
Purchased new 2000 Excursion and at sale my husband & I decided to get the Ford extended warranty since we were travelers. Still under warranty about 2yrs later the engine just stopped-so took it in and got the biggest runaround by the warranty company. But we found out it was 1st extended not Ford extended warranty.
Our contract stated Ford extended warranty... in 2000 we even picked up a pamphlet on the Ford extended warranty and spoke to finance manager about the price difference between the two (Ford and the off-brand being 1st Extended) and decided we wanted the Ford because the price was not that much of a difference. Found out the finance mgr's wife worked in the same office too and she typed up the contract. If it sounds like and looks like a bait and switch... WELL, what do You think!? Of course we had physically visit the dealership to get a face to face to discuss the issue (after many voicemails and no return calls)... They said it was a typo! Hefty typo since they got kickback from 1st extended and neither D&D nor 1st extended would all meet together with us the Consumer. They know of their "crookedness" and of getting away with it.
Another dealer at the time had the vehicle, got caught up in the middle of it all, but bottom line is the V10 engine was crap and Ford company new it (new vehicle to the market back in 2000) and neither Ford, 1st extended, nor D&D would repair (replace the engine). Because we moved & traveled extensively and we were missing some receipts for oil changes they did not want to make the repair... That was their excuse for not covering. We absolutely maintained the oil changes/filter on regular basis every 3000-4000 miles... Hired a special tech to check V10 and we knew something was wrong with the V10 when he said it looked as if an oil change had never happened.
We should have known better to buy a Ford anyway... Grew up w / different Ford vehicles (the Crown vic & 350van) each time the engine blew up and Ford/ford credit screwed my parents over. Never buy a ford again. NEVER!

Besides all that... Our contract was obviously bait & switch. If you're in a First extended warranty situation, I suggest getting a lawyer. It would be great if a class action suit would be called to order.

Lastly... Blessed w / Chevy truck and the Honda still going strong at almost 10 years...

See Ford and Ford dealerships = Greed... And now they want government to bail them out... Maybe they should get it from First Extended.
