These guys had a very good price on a Garmin GPS I was interested in. Should have checked them out before ordering. Order went fine but the next business day got an email saying I had to call them to verbally confirm my order for security purposes. When I called, they asked about the shipping/billing address but it was really just a scam to try to get me to buy the newer maps (the unit comes with the 2007 maps per the guy on the phone). Since I had already read at this point that they were into trying to upsell you on expensive options, I just said no to the maps and the guy said thanks and hung up.
After a couple mins I got an email telling me that (surprise, surprise) the unit was now backordered for 2-3 weeks). I suspect if I had gone for the upgrade it wouldn't have been backordered (and their site shows it even now as "available").
May end up just cancelling this order as who knows what I will end up, what the warranty situation will be... Other posters have indicated they are related to some company in NY and the guy I talked to sounded like he had an accent from that area.
So far my credit card hasn't been charged but at best these guys seem a bit slippery and shady. I buy a ton of stuff online and until now haven't had any company be this questionable.
