I ordered a Garmin Zumo 550 GPS. The next day I got the email to call Customer Service to complete my order.
When I called the rep tried to sell an expansion card ($199) that would allow map updates free for the life of the unit and an AC charger ($60). When I told him I had not heard of anything like this he said it was because Garmin didn't want you to know. (I contacted Garmin and they said this was bogus).
I told the rep I was going to research this and call him back. I almost immediately recieved an email saying my order had been processed so I called back and only got voice mail and they never returned my call.
I called the next day and was told that the GPS was on 3-week back order. The night before the rep said they has them in stock and if I purchased the upgrades he would pay for Overnight Shipping and I would have them before the end of the week.
If anyone has lost money to these crooks they should contact their Credit Card company and file a complaint. Visa and I think most others have a Zero liability for Internet Fraud and that what these guys are doing. We need to make noise about these ripoff artist and put them out of business.
