I purchased a Toshiba Satellite Laptop 1115-S103 on November 29 and according to my rebate center status with CompUSA will not be receiving my rebate for $200.00 from them at all!
I purchased this computer while shopping the day after Thanksgiving because all of the ads for sales that day said there was a $200.00 Toshiba laptop mail-in rebate offer and a computer store mail-in rebate offer. Each store offered varying amounts and we ended up purchasing the product from CompUSA.
I submitted both rebate forms, following all specified instructions exactly! Here's the catch: the product package has one giant UPC that is a sticker and another sticker separate below it that has all of the same information but not the actual UPC. Now, both rebate offers required original UPC codes. I, as a consumer thinking logically, thought if I submitted the full code to Toshiba and the other code to CompUSA it would be accepted because, of course, everyone would have the same issue to deal with.
All I want is my rebate offer to be accepted... I never even received a notice by mail that it was rejected and I mailed it on November 30. It is now February 6th and I have to find out I was rejected by searching on their website.
I will not stop until I get that $200.00 and would love to find out how many other innocent people have been ripped-off by these obvious con artists. It is a blatant rip-off scam because there is no way to submit the same original UPC code to two different companies!!!
If this is not settled by CompUSA, I will never, and I mean never, ever go back in that store again for any reason, whatsoever!
