Just like a previous post, I too was scammed by an clean cut, good-looking college kid.By purchasing 2 children's books for $98, I thought I'd be helping this young man pay for his study of "marine biology in Australia". He too dropped local names and streets to help with his credibility as a "neighbor". To top it off he said "I'm supposed to ask this: Do you have any chores that I can do for you?" I responded "no I'm all set". Now I wish I had him wash my car! (But I'm sure he would have weaseled out of it somehow).
It's 3 months later and I have not received my books, just 2 magazines I did not ask for. There is no address or phone # anywhere on Prestige Sales' website and the fax # they list is not working.
I think I may have seen him in my neighborhood in White Plains, NY, so I may attempt to confront him. I also plan on contacting the circulation departments of the magazines I am receiving to lodge a complaint regarding their sales tactics.
