Or LOTTO AGENT SCAM to wire $2,998 via Western Union or Money Gram to the Tax Agent? Branford, CT Or Calgary, Canada Branford, CT or Calgary, Canada

I received a letter dated, Aug 28,08, which states that my father, who doesn't even live at my address, is entitled to a sum of $150K from a $1.5M of prize money.

A check dated SEP 02,08, was enclosed for $4,985.87 with my father's name, but my address from Universal Insurance, INC??? The check looks legite. It states that this check has been deducted from the winnings to pay for the applicable GOVERNMENT TAXES/FEES. It also states to keep the claim number confidential to avoid duplication or lost of claim.

The tax amount is $2,998 to be paid via Western Union or MoneyGram to the Tax Agent, Cindy Howard.

Of course, I called my father to identify if he has been contacted via the same type of scam, he was not. I attempted to call the phone number mulitple times, however the standard recording "the mailbox number you are calling is full and will not accept new messages."

I Google'd some of this info to find half of dozen similiar claims reported on usacomplaints.com.Com. This is a scam for sure and those individuals responsible should be strung up by their balls and castrated for jeopardizing Americans financial stability during this national financial meltdown.
