I as a owner of a grooming/pet shop { just pets no supplies} and breeder of some Beautiful well adjusted Chihuahuas, German Rottweilers { only 1 litter per yr} and will be having my first litter of English B/D's. I have read up on "don't buy puppies of the net" and "don't buy from a Pet shop"... Well you know we are not all bad, and some of us do love the breed of what we are breeding... There should be more out there on "Tea-Cups" which in most breeds there is NO such thing! I agree only "Puppy mills" create these! And "Back Yard breeders".. So when you see "TEA CUPS" Chihuahuas... Stay away they WILL have problems, maybe not now but later in life and most only live for 8-9yrs where a Chihuahua should live for 15-18yrs... What a shame! And for The Rotts, I breed mine for temperament NOT size, and I tell everyone that calls me about them. And YOU as the buyer should look at this also... ASK questions, LOTS! No question is a dumb one! And do not be pushed into buying a puppy, it is a lifetime Commitment and that choice should be yours, take your time and really do research and ask for reference's. I do agree there are allot of money hungry, evil breeders out three and most of there dogs live in very small kennels { cages}I know I had a neighbor like this and turned her in and she is facing 41 counts of animal abuse, but it took time! We the neighbors called police, animal control and for months nothing was done! Until T/G day... She went to eat with family and her dogs where loose again... This time after 3 calls to police and them doing nothing I called channel 19 news. Well after that the police, animal control you name went to her house and where amazed at what they saw! And this lady was nice, looked clean etc and you would think her dogs where well cared for. NOT! So do not trust or believe everything they {breeders say either... Do your research and check there reference's out.
I know all of you searching for that perfect puppy can find him/her they are out there and most of us { breeders} are really caring for mom's to be, and there babies. And we do not keep them in CAGES, Kennels etc... They live in our homes, sleep in our beds and get treats. Because we love them and also know what we are breeding for health, Temperament and for the standard of the breed, and it all comes out in our puppies! And we are PROUD of them and Will talk on the phone to you. If they do not give phone RED FLAG! This is not to advertise my babies nor to say I am the best breeder out there, just defending us breeders out there that really do care where our puppies go and that we do love our dogs.
