I recieved a call and was asked if I would be interested in tapeing condo units in laconia NH from eric hebert of hebe drywall. I accepted to do 1 unit at 8 dollars a sheet unit #9 the hanging had to be fixed screws sticking out corners not cut back and sheetrock not fastened properly. The agreement was that I do a level 4 tapeing job paper tape and 2 coats and that hebe drywall was to supply a shop vac sander to sand the job. I had to go back 3 times (60 miles 1 way) and no sander and when the sander was finally there the bearings were gone in it and there was no sanding pad or bag (so at an additional expense) I had to furnish pad paper and bag and completed the job and was told payment would be in a week.
After the week had come and gone I left a message for eric and when he got back to me he seid there was a problem with the job and now rock tec wanted a level 5 system with no extra money for it and if I didn't I would not get paid at all. I was also told that everyone that was working there had been told the same thing and we all were to meet at 7 am on friday.
When I got to the job on friday there was noone there but the super and he let me in the unit to my amaizment someone had taken a pencil and scribbled on all thewalls and ceilings. I asked the super if he had notified the athorities and if he had seen who had done this he indicated at that time shaun and dave of rock tec did it under the direction of the owner steve. It was also brought to my attention that eric had a 10 dollar an hour labor in there doing something after I had completed the unit and also the hangers had a hard time getting paid and when they got paid money was deducted from them to compensate the tapers for the extra work. I was offered about 1/2 the money owed to me by eric which I turned down and have filed a small claims case against him. He claimes it is rock tec that is doing it but my agreement was with eric, so it is eric that will face the judge.
In erics defense it was the rock tec guys that vandelized the job in a lame attempt to to withhold money from the people that arwe doing the work this company (rock tec) has an ongoing rep. As being a ripoff and should be stopped...
