I closed this account in January - then an unauthorized charge went through in march 08... Not my fault... I did not know of the charges until I went to buy a car and they showed me my credit report... The account had an old email address attached to it on the account and was disconnected so I never received a email regarding the unauthorized charge. So now 4 months of late fees and on my credit has a negative and I lost points of my 769 score.
I immediately called - told them they let the charges go through not me.
I was told by a supervisor that if I make the payment to the account of 35.83 — the late fees would go away and removed from credit reporting.
Because they charged a closed account - and I did not authorize it! Then they say they can not remove late fee's after reviewing... Reviewing what - their error! So I still owe them 165.03.
If their computer had any brains they would of seen the email stating the email address was closed. Again not my fault... I thought the account was closed.
