I, too, received a letter from this people regarding a supposed $125,000 winning — along with a check for $4875 (to "pay taxes") and instructions to call Mr. George Stanley.
George Stanley had a very strong Middle Eastern accent and a rude demeanor. He asked me for my phone number. I said, "why do you need my phone number?" He answered, "To process your winnings." I said, "What did I win? What is this?" He said, "Ma'am, I need your phone number." I gave it to him. He asked my name. Again, I said, "Why do you need my name? I have a claim number." He got really pissed and said, "MA'AM, I NEED YOUR NAME." I gave it to him. After I told him my name, he asked again, "I need your last name." I said, "I just gave it to you."
He said, "F* YOU! Did you hear me? F* YOU!"
And hung up on me.
I work for a bank in compliance. This is FRAUDULENT. Fifth Third needs to be fined!!!"Mr. George Stanley" needs to suffer some sort of consequences for his rude behavior and INEXCUSABLE language!!!
