Since you refer to the contract, please note a passage on page 3 (of 4 pages) labeled Overflow/Excess Volume, which explicitly states that any overflow/excess volume will be dealt with on the day of removal. Such
overflow has not been identified on the day of removal in my case, and total freight was calculated 3725USD, with balance due 2682 USD for freight, as
per receipt dated 2/24. When I received your bill (on March 10) for 4050USD (320USD higher than I anticipated), very logically, I questioned it.
Excerpts from e-mail regarding the late payment fee surcharge:
Although I have not gotten a satisfactory answer regarding the overflow volume, I instructed my bank to pay you the full amount on March 13th, hoping that we will arrive to a reasonable settlement in the meantime. (Please note, that I paid 3 days after I received your incorrect invoice, well within the due time specified on the contract.) You received the payment 1 day after you invoiced the late fee. Yet, you maintain your charges of $250 in late fees.
I finally received the shipment on 6.1. i.E. 78 boxes and a bike. I paid $320 for overflow wich turned out to be not justified. I paid $250 of late fee which wasn't justified. Ireceived 2 boxes less, and the bike was damaged luckily it was insured. I collected $7.28 in insurance for the bike, because at that point I was informed that my shipment was underinsured (written in an uncomprehensible legal wording in a small letters at the bottom of the page).
