Horse Trader in Kerrville sold misrepresented dangerous horse as so gentle anyone could ride them

This horse trader advertises horses as "so gentle anyone can ride them" and "extremely broke" but the horse she sold my brother is anything but. We tried to have him shod and he threw such a fit the farrier refused to continue. My brother called Wendy and she stated that they hadn't ever put shoes on him but some horses need to be sedated to be shod... Does that sound extremely gentle to you?

I have been riding horses over 40 years and think this horse may have been abused. I tried to bridle him and he went ballistic and set back so hard he almost broke the halter. A 6 year old boy was mounted on another horse standing a few feet behind him and would have gotten seriously hurt if the halter had broke and it had rocketed back into the horse and child. Five of us witnessed this.

I specifically told Wendy not to sell my brother the horse if it was not gentle as he and my niece are inexperienced riders. When I called asking to return the horse and get his money back she said she'd have to deduct for retraining? I hardly consider that horse a well trained horse. I don't trust her to find another horse if she thinks this one is extremely gentle.in fact all her ads I've seen say the horses are gentle... Baby sitter, bomb proof, anybody can ride, etc. She sells mostly on Craig's list.

I couldn't believe my ears. She considers a horse that will not stand for a farrier, will not let you bridle him or pick up his feet as well trained. We have only had the horse for less than a month and are afraid to even try to ride it now.

Furthermore, she stated she makes videos of the horses she sells in case something like this ever happens. I'd like to see that video. No one I ever bought a horse from took such precautions. I'm not buying that because you can drug a horse so that it behaves long enough to make a video. I have friends who have bought apparently docile horses at auctions who turned out to be fire breathing dragons after they get them home. She stated she didn't drug the horse but it's funny she suggested that we may have to have it shod while sedated.

I've never had to sedate any horse I owned to shoe them... Or bridle them or pick up their feet. A horse doesn't forget it's ground manners in a few weeks... That is if it has any to begin with. She acted as if that was perfectly acceptible.

I would caution people to avoid horse traders entirely but if they do deal with them get a 30 day trial period with full refund and vet check guarantee in writing because you just can't trust people anymore.in fact take your own video camera and record the terms of sale and the horse and take a witness with you to boot.
It seems to me that someone in that business would not want to ruin their reputation and risk not getting repeat business by misrepresenting their horses so dishonestly in this way.

At any rate if the horse is such a good horse why not take it back and resell it? I'll bet they breathed a sigh of relief when they unloaded that horse on us.
