There is a psychic in Los Angeles on the Westside near Cedars Sinai Hospital and the Beverly Center mall. She calls herself "Madame Marie, " and she is just south of 3rd Street on Willaman in a little apartment building. She puts a standee sign on the Southwest corner of 3rd and Willaman, advertising a $10 psychic reading.
I called "Madame Marie" and went to see her at her apartment on a recent Friday night. She had all the lights off with a couple of candles lit on the kitchen table. On the floor was an old cigarette butt. Marie held my hands with her eyes closed, appearing to concentrate on my situation. She said she could do a love-reconnection spell for $75, and that if I didn't see results in 6 weeks, she would return $65 dollars to me (minus $10 for the reading).
I took the bait, unaware of Marie's true nature. Like so many similar complaints I have read on the internet, the psychics always seem so nice at first. Marie said I will return to her every other Friday for 6 weeks for further $10 readings, and she gave me a mini Bible printed on little pieces of paper, instructing me to read it before bed every night.
I followed up with Marie by phone that weekend, just wanting to check in and see if the love-reconnection spell was cast. I left some messages, feeling pretty anxious about the whole thing. I didn't hear back. I finally caught up with Marie on Monday, and she was outraged on the phone.
How dare I call so many times for a measly $75, she screamed, adding that she should throw the money in my face! She said she was doing me a favor, and that she has clients paying her hundreds of thousands of dollars! Moreover, Marie suddenly saw all this darkness around me (via our phone conversation), and said that I should bury money in a graveyard to get rid of a curse. Right then and there, I knew Marie was a money-grubbing charleton.
On the website are complaints from so many people who have been deceived by psychics instructing their clients to bury money in a graveyard. That money is eventually buried in the psychic's pocket. When I told Marie that I didn't have any money to bury in a graveyard - that I am having serious financial difficulties — she, of course, cut me right off because she knows she can't get any more money from me.
It has been two weeks since I paid Marie, and I will never contact her again. She has called me several times, and left one message late at night in which she whispered my name on the phone. That was the whole message. She called me the other day, but didn't leave a message. If, by some miracle, I achieve my desired results during the 6-week time window, I will eat my words here. But my guess is that my $75 paid to Marie will buy her another grooming for her dog (she told me that she spends $75 to get her dog groomed), and that's the last I will ever hear about the situation.
So, if you happen to see a psychic sign on the Southwest corner of 3rd and Willaman, do yourself a favor and just keep on going.
