Warren National University (aka "Kennedy Western University")
I have been mislead in believing the accreditation was not important as it only keeps you from teaching in your state. Most major employers in Texas, my company in particular, no longer accept WNU/KWU degrees

I initially enrolled with KWU (Now WNU) and my company no longer accepts their degrees nor considers the University worthy. Same goes for other major employers in the State of Texas. I have worked very hard to meet their requirements and have invested nearly $8k and an additional 2 years of my time. I have credit hours from accredited colleges and recognized the differences in their curriculum. WNU's program is self pace and there are no classes to attend, which means you are limited to the interaction and aid that you would normally obtain from attending a class on-line or on campus. Although the program is self-paced, you are required to complete the program within a certain timeframe. If you require an extension (WHICH IS NOT MENTIONED TO YOU UPFRONT), you access additional fees. This is very unethical and unheard of ANY other universities.in addition, there are several fees to accelerate any reviews in your course work. For example, the Final Project (for a BS degree, a 75 min. Pg extensive and academic research), if you are close to exceeding the deadline to complete your program, it is in your best interest to fork out the money. Without the accelerated review, which I belive costs $100-150, then you may be forced to make an extension. After a couple of years in the program and a few extensions, I was just notified that every extension costs $100 per month (I WAS FLOORED! - - Meaning that for me to graduate, I may have to fork out over $1200 based on the number of months exceeding the required program deadline). As well, you are required to pay "binding" fees for your Final Project which is an additional $250 (optional for MS & Phd degrees). As well, there are fees associated with your graduation review of $250. Recently, I had been enrolled for my last course, which I purchased text book of $110 and have studied for. I have been needing to take the test to complete all of my requirements, however, the course has been removed from my degree program and after several attempts to get an advisor to help me with this, I have heard nothing. They don't resolve issues and it seems their objective is to have the students choke. Assuming I would decide to complete the program, I would still owe them over $1500 aside from the $8k already invested, for a degree that is not accepted by my employer or other major employers in the State of Texas. I have asked for a refund, but lets face it, that will never happen. I honestly feel I have been misled. Prior to enrolling I was told by the admittance counselor that having a degree from an unaccredited university, was the same as obtaining the degree from an accredited college, as the only difference was that I would not be able to teach. I was pursuing a degree in teaching, so I felt it was not necessary to obtain my degree from an accredited university. I was a fool and I only hope there is something I can do to remedy this issue.
