I received a letter with a check for $7,625 stating that I won $125K in a lottery that I didn't enter. I knew it was a scam because the letter was VERY unprofessional. Poor spelling and grammar and the return address on the envelope was stamped Canada but the mailing address was Georgia. WTF?
On the letter it had tell tale signs that it was written by someone who did not have a clear grasp of the English language. The dates were spelling wrong (instead of July 21st it was July 21th?) lol! Also the fonts were different and words were spaced incorrectly throughout the letter.
I immediately went onto Google and this site popped up after a search. I knew it was a scam! All I had to do was laugh and throw it away. I wanted to write a report so that the next person would be protected.
