I experienced the exact same bait-and-switch tactic everyone else has gotten. Tried to upsell me, and when I declined, I received a "backorder notification" a few minutes later.
So, I called them back pretending to be a new customer. I asked if they had the Canon SD750 (the camera I ordered) in stock. The customer service representative, Sean, responded "Oh, yeah! Of course!".
"Wonderful, " I said, "can you make sure you ship the order I placed two weeks ago gets shipped as quickly as possible?".
Sean responded, "You'll have it over the weekend."
In inquired, "How do you know I'll have it over the weekend if I haven't given you my order number yet?"
"It doesn't matter, they're all getting shipped." then he hung up on me.
I guess I should have remembered — if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Don't waste your time.
P.S. I just checked back into my account to check order status and they cancelled my order.
