First, the "deposit" you pay these people has nothing to do with the van line that moves you. That is a totally different cost, although when I contacted Nationwide to increase my initial weight estimate, they increased my "deposit". They told me they coordinate your move with major moving companies, such as United Van Lines. Not true. They set me up with Cross Country Van Lines who are a bigger rip off than Nationwide. When your movers don't show up on time for either pick up or delivery, and you can't even find out where your furniture is, Nationwide ignores you. I repeatedly asked them for information on additional moving insurance, which they never provided until it was too late for me to get it through them. They said I had never asked, and when I forwarded my previous emails asking about insurance, they got angry and defensive, saying they couldn't keep up with everybody. No one will insure with Cross Country except Cross Country itself, who charge you an arm and leg and then don't respond to issues you have. So, you pay a very large fee for Nationwide to make a phone call to schedule a moving company, end of story.
