My husband and I just moved to San Diego in early April. He was looking for a stable job & for someone to give him an opportunity to show off the great skills he has. I saw Newline Promotions (now Insight Marketing Concepts) job add on Jobing.com. Their advertisement said "NFL, NBA, sport lovers, entertainment. Warehouse Distribution, Entry-level Management" Sound familiar? Yeah, false advertisement! I immediately called & spoke with the Human Resources Manager, Beth. She told me the Warehouse Distribution position had already been "filled" and that she had an Entry-level Sales position open. She said it was a salary job that paid $30-35k a year. Total B-S! Commission only!!! So, my husband went to the interview. They told him that he had a great personality and they would really like to hire him. The next day, he went on a 2nd interview, called "Day of O" (Day of Observation) By the 3rd interview, they had hired him on. For about 2 weeks, he was walking business to business, driving around in his own car selling Disney Books!
Oh, by the way. No, they don't pay for your gas either! They will have you drive from Vista all the way down to El Centro. After 2 weeks, they told him they were going to start doing HI. Home Improvement Sales. He was walking door-to-door asking home owners if they wanted a free estimate to replace their windows. The free estimates were through Pacific Home Remodeling. He was supposed to get paid $49 for each person who signed up. They didn't even pay him till a month later. And they didn't give him the full amount he was supposed to get. After he wasn't making any money doing HI, my husband went back to selling the same old Disney Books. Each book is $10 each. My husband was only making $1.50 off of each sale. Walking 12 hours a day and not even making minimum wage! You could make more money at McDonalds.
The owners and managers are all scam artists! Their names probably aren't even real. I've heard these company referred to as a "Sales Cult." That's exactly what it is. All of the managers/owners, sales reps live in the same apartments with eachother. Plus, the managers don't even have cars. My husband did fall for it for over a month. Luckily, he quit about 2 weeks ago. When you go in for an interview, they build you up and make it seem like you're special. Like they're really choosing you. Brainwashing! They use the same old pitch for every person who walks into their office. Don't be fooled by the posters or plaques hanging on the walls either! (Disney, NBA, etc.) Please, if you do see one of these salesmen on the street. Don't buy their products but instead give them a tip $. They are only trying to make money and they are actually really cool people. Don't buy the products! You will be only making the managers and owners richer. Oh, these companies are all over the U.S. They just go by different names. They are constantly changing names! The product name is Innovage.insight Marketing Concepts, Newline Promotions used to be named DS-Max. Google it! Total SCAM!!! Please don't fall for their brain-washing, false motivation, lying, telling you that you could be a Manager making $200,000 a year Bull Sh*t!!!
