Axis Global Client Referral Services Aka Axis Global Telecommuting contacted me too! I also think they are SUSPECT Oklahoma

This company contacted me as well. I had not previously applied for a position with them, but had been told by their "recruiter" that they had found a posting of my resume on a jobseeker website in which I had utilized.

I was excited at first when the lady called me. However, the longer that I spoke with this woman, it almost sounded as if she was reading from a telemarketing script while she was trying to "recruit me." This was a red flag immediately. The next red flag came when she mentioned that there was a $35 background check fee that had to be paid once you filled out your application. Now I went back and asked her if you could pay it AFTER you had been specifically hired for a project and she told me yes. However, if you go to their website, it seems that they want you to pay this upfront before they process any of your paperwork for any of their positions. How can you charge someone a background check fee, when they haven't even been OFFICIALLY hired for anything? That's EXTREMELY suspicious to me...

The next weird thing is this. The "recruiter" that I spoke with on the phone mentioned to me that the company was based in Oklahoma. I went to their website and it too says "Oklahoma." However, I checked on a couple of websites, and they had a posting in which they said that their location was in Liverpool, NY. Now I'm not sure whether or not they have a satellite office there, but it sure wasn't listed on the website, which was also SUSPICIOUS.

I have also researched responses over the net about this company, and the majority of folks who responded have had some of the same questions that I had with no real legitimate answers. I have only seen ONE response on a website that said that this was a reputable company to work for. Who really knows, it could have been a company rep just trying to ease suspicians.

But in any case ladies and gentlemen, I don't have a good feeling about this "company." My intuition tells me that there is just something fishy about this.

I didn't pay the money because it just sounds too much like a scam. When any organization raises this many questions, all eyebrows should be raised, and you should definately BEWARE. You don't have to pay someone for any job fees if it's legit. Now if you're talking about home office equipment cost, that's one thing. But "processing fees for a job application, " or "background check fees." I just don't think so. If they can't take it out of your pay after you made some money and are hired, don't do it.

Just a thought... If this company got over 10,000 people to pay that $35 fee, they would have made $350,000 in profits. Don't fall prey. Stay smart!
