Hello Mr. Hurst, My name is David * and I wanted to forward you my nightmare with San Antonio Singles (aka Seguin Singles). I realize that my story is probably not news worthy, but I felt it important to forward my last correspondence to you for review. There are numerous members of San Antonio Singles that feel the same way I do, Ripped Off, Cheated, Lied Too, Misrepresented, and preyed upon. There are a lot of lonely people out there, and for a company to prey on them is just not right. Thanks for letting me (and others who feel the same way) vent.
As of today, I have not had any response to the letter below. Thanks for the phone response to my email request for cancellation on 6-2. I stated that I would respond to you on 6-3 but I did not, (the next day I received some bad medical news) so I am responding today. Please accept this as my second request to (1) cancel my membership, (2) refund my $100 down payment, (3) refund my two $88.14 payments made to Universal Guardian Acceptance, (4) payoff the balance of said loan to Universal.
My basis for these request are the numerous misrepresentations (lies) throughout the entire recruiting process, the unfulfilled promises after the high pressure sales process that preys on lonely people, and the outrageous amounts of money charged compared to other dating services. 1. The only reason I responded to your advertising (SEGUIN SINGLES.com) because it appeared to be a local dating service. When your representative called me representing San Antonio Singles I said, "I was trying to find out about Seguin Singles" and was told they are the same thing.
As of this time I don't know of anyone else from Seguin as a Member. As a matter of fact, the few members I've met are about an hours drive from Seguin. This is not practical and now not cost effective with the price of gas. 2. I was offended when I insisted on getting pricing information over the phone and a manager got on the phone and stated "that maybe this program is not for you".
I had to drive an hour into San Antonio only to find out the pricing was ridiculous and you had to haggle with the Sales Rep like buying a car. I should have stopped there but the promises kept coming. 3. I was told that there is was a screening process and background check in place to assure a higher level of clients. This was a joke, no background check was done and my screening was a 5 min interview with the sales rep.
The first and only event I attended was loud and not condusive to getting to know a person, the first lady I met asked me back to her house in the first 10 min of meeting her. Not at all what I was looking for. 4. I was promised monthly functions to get to know people. To the best of my knowledge, there is no monthly schedule posted. The few meetings I have been notified of appeared to have been thrown together at the last minute. This is not professional, and makes it impossible to schedule dates on my calendar.
Not what one would expect from an association who promotes professionalism. 5. There was a member (I will provide you with this persons name if requested) who had the same misrepresentations made to her and when she started asking questions. She was blocked from being contacted on the web-site with the message "This member is in a relationship and cannot be contacted". This is a flat lie as I had contact with this member after she was blocked. This was the straw that broke the camels back.
I will not deal with an organizations that lies to its members and charges for the service, this is nuts. 6. For the premium price being paid, there are not enough members to have a good selection. I have had better success with services that have not misrepresented themselves for a fraction of the price.
Again, please cancel my membership with the above stipulations ASAP. I expect full compliance with the terms of this email and any response from your company to be in writing. Please understand I am serious about my request and my next step is to forward this email to the 3 local TV Stations, the San Antonio Express news, and the two local Seguin newspaper publications.
