Today I stopped in to inquire about purchasing a Civic Hybrid. I knew full well that I would be placed on a list and would have to wait.
The salesman, Alberto DePaula, told me that they had one in stock that a customer had ordered, placed deposit on and was overdue to sign the sales contract. If I agreed to pay $1,000 over sticker the sales manager would allow me to purchase the vehicle today.
I viewed the car, agreed to the price and filled out the paper work. We were arraninging registration when Alberto came back to say that there was a problem. The general manager had decided not to sell the car. However, if i wanted to pay $2,000 more for a navigation equipped model, he could get it for me by the end of the month.
I told him that if I left today without a car I would never be back and told him straight out that I found their practices reprehensible.
I will never go back and would encourage all to avoid this dealership.
If you have had similar problems I would recommend that you write to Honda resident and CEO...
