Be Careful with these guys I caught them LYING!!! Dont pay for anything before checking their carfax report. I had a similarbait and switch experience like many others who complained publicly on this site. Wish I had seen these complaints before making my purchase from Midwest Auto Recycling. Luckily I caught there SCAM before signing off on the shipment paperwork.
I was told that I am paying for a tested transmission with 39,000 miles for a 98 pathfinder with CARFAX verification. First of all they charged $300 more than any other dealer because their tranny supposedly had such LOW miles. I gave them my CC# and asked for my CarFax report and at first they tried to tell me that carfax would come with the transmission and hung up on me. I called back and demanded to see it before signing off on any contractual paperwork they email and request you to fax back. Called back again and they told me I should get it within the hour... Called back again requested it 2 more times the same day. A day later I still did NOT get the report called back 3-4 more times and finally received it. The carfax report stated that the last odometer reading for the car was 1998 and had only 1 mile (one mile) and that CARFAX did not guarantee correct data for that report vin# JN8AR05Y3WW236015.
I called back to question where they guessed the 39,000 miles from because thats not what the report says and was told they remembered the odometer on the vehicle when came in (no proof). I questioned how do I know if they are telling me the truth and how did they expect me to pay an extra $300 over other dealers for a tranny they cant prove has the LOW miles, works or know where it came from. The person on phone got angry with me, started yelling that I called him stupid when I said no such thing and HUNG UP on me. I just wanted to get what I was promised and it definitely wasnt. LIARS!!! I got my money back because I hadnt signed any contracts yet. I only wrote this to make sure people are aware of Dishonest merchants like Midwest auto recycling. Their customer service sucked too once they got CC#, they hung up on me like 5 times for asking for the carfax report. They only care about your money, Shop elsewhere.
