There was an ad posted in my newspaper that said "movie extras needed" which happened to appear in our paper right after our city announced they were looking for movie extras for Final Destination 4. So I thought this would be a good way to apply for that movie. Well after I paid $9.50 for shipping and handling and a kit that they sent me, I found nothing on their website for anything in my area but a bunch of garbage casting calls. And in the National casting calls it was a bunch of listings of movies that should be coming out next (Spiderman 4, etc.). But they were all listed by the same company, Omel?
Anyways the book and piece of paper that they mailed me told me how to cancel, supposively. It said to respond to three casting calls and have the resonse id's ready to give them when I cancelled, so I did. When I called I was still on the website signed in, and they said they didn't need the response id's and that my membership was cancelled.
So I tried to deleted all my personal information and pictures on the website so nobody could get my information, well the website froze up so I signed back in to delete it. I then called the number again to see if my membership was cancelled for sure and they said I would be charged $89.00 automatically because I signed in again. She told me to look at page 76 or whatever in the book about cancellation policies, I said that I did and it says nothing about not being able to sign in again, she then had me on hold and I waited for three or more minutes and got disconnected, I then call back and a diff. Lady says the same thing and told me that the book also says to look at the website for term changes.
My arguement was that, why would it let me sign in again if I cancelled my membership, for example if you close your yahoo account, american online account, etc. It wouldn't let you sign in again. Well this place did. Their arguement was, why did I sign back in in the first place, and I told them I wanted my information off there, they said that it would automatically be deleted by them. But when I signed in, guess what! It wasn't, everything was still on there.
I started crying on the phone, because I am a full time college student trying to make money and have a part time job and don't make much money. And I don't have $89.00 in my account and it would make me overdraft and cause me more money. I just put my $78.00 check in the bank from work and it would be completely gone because of this charge. I told them to send me to the refund department that was listed in the book they gave me. She told me that they no longer have a refund policy and that she was sorry and there was nothing they could do about it. My mother told me to call my bank and cancel any payment. I called my bank and they said there were no charges made to my account just yet besides the $9.50 and that I could have my check card destroyed so they can't get into my account and have another check card sent to me. So I had to do this and do not have a check card now for at least a week.
I then called the company for the third time and called the number listed in the paper this time. This was supposively the sales department, which was a man every time I called this number, and he told me he would send me to the right department after he heard my story, he sent me to some voicemail.
So AGAIN I call the other number, cancellation number, AGAIN! A girl answers again, I tell her the story, and NOW this girl was suprised to hear that they charge you again if you sign back on, she said oh we do? Haha I was extremely mad after I heard this girl. I yelled, yes apparently you do, now you don't even know what the hell your company charges people for, it must be nice to work somewhere where ya'll just take money from people and pull some nice scams, I need to work there, how do I apply! Hah and she starts laughing and tells me to hold on and she will get the manager, so I hold, and guess who picks back up the phone! Her again! And says that those other women I talked to were right and they do charge you again for signing back on. And that she was sorry, she was just informed of this. I told her to let me talk to the manager, not her, about the refund policy in the book. She says there is a refund policy and that I could talk to them. Tells me to hold on, so AGAIN I hold, and guess who comes back on the damn line!!! Her AGAIN!!!
This time she says that nevermind they don't have a refund policy she was sorry again and just informed of this and that I could write a letter. Told her to erase all of my information, to cancel everything I had and that she will not receive my $89.00 because my card has been destroyed and that they can take me to court if they need to.
I told them I already had an attorney and if charged anything again somehow they will see me in court and THEY will owe me money! Also told her that I was reporting her to our news and newspaper (where their ad was listed) and also the Better Business Bureau. So please people do not sign up for this SCAM, it has done nothing but cause me problems, time, and MONEY! Wish I would have researched first!!
