My name is Blair, I have just felt the rath of this Imperial Cruise line dooping. While attending a well known "Womens Show" in calgary alberta, a place where girls pay a fee to attend a large open-house on womens products and interests, my girlfriend had entered into many which seemed like legitimate contest for baskets and prizes.
Four days later i receive a call at work from my girlfriend informing me that she had won a prize she had signed up for at the womens show... And we were going on a cruise! I myself could not believe it, i thought she was pulling some sort of prank. Upon arriving home i had learned that they required a credit-card number to pay taxes for the trip, which set off an alarm right away.
I immediately googled the cruise line and list a mile long appeared of warnings for this cruise scam. Googling the phone number on the call display also brought up the same material. Which pretty much brought us from cloud nine, discussing when and where we were going to take our cruise, to a feeling of complete shock. I myself have never been more angry, watching the transformation of sheer joy to complete dis spare and embarrassment in my girlfriend was almost too much to bare.
After about a combined 8-10 hours off research on various websites and many phone calls to customer service later... I apparently have our money back. I was hung up on three times, laughed at, put on hold for 20 or 30 minutes at a time by what seemed like a solid mixture of young ignorant teens and savy call center veterans... Giving me the same.."but she verified on recording" spiel. They finally must have got sick of me or realized i was never going to stop... Which i made quite clear.
I now have a conformation number and the money should be back in the account in 3-5 days. If anyone has had the same problem please i beg you don't let these crooks keep your money. Threaten to call your credit card provider talk about this website and insist on a refund.
That being said I have read some feeds from people saying that they have gone on the trip and whatever they may have or have not enjoyed themselves. They fact of the matter is this is no prize. Its misleading, they gain trust from false securities and the fact of the matter is that this is a marketing scam to lock people into a deal by telling them they are the soul winner of a prize. It should be illegal for a all i care. Like i said before i watch my girlfriend look like she won a once in a life time prize to looking like her dog had been run over and it makes me sick... Please don't be a victim to this company
