I too am a victim of the TLG/GREATFUN Scam. My husband checked our online account today and found this $12.99 charged to the account with the words TLG/GREATFUN 1-877-488-9480. Immediately I read quite a few of the other reports on this company.
I then called them and informed them, just as others have, that I did not approve this amount to be charged on my account and wanted it stopped immediately as well as my money returned. The lady named Kasey started in on the questions with did I click on any rewards programs. I informed her that this was for a car rental and that I didn't order the car rental my brother did on line and my credit card was never given till I picked up the car.
She got so quiet I had to ask if she was still there. Finally she said yes, and asked me information as to my name and zipcode. I gave them and she was supposedly searching.
Meanwhile my husband commented to me that they won't give the money back or stop taking it out. Me with my big mouth informed him that they better and I am contacting the Attorney General for the state of NC as well as the state of PA where the car was rented. I told him I am tired of these places doing this crap to me as well as other people. It is bad enough I had to fight with the car rental place twice to get my refund from them.
Finally this Kasey woman came back on and told me she was canceling the membership effective immediately and I said, "and you will refund my money." She said. "Yes we will refund your money and it will take 10-15 business days". I asked for a confirmation number and she hesitated. I then again asked and she said she would give me one.
She proceeded to again repeated the information of the cancellation of this bogus membership and the refund of $12.99.By now I am sick of the silent treatment every few minutes so I end the money amount with the $. 99 cents. She made a comment about, "if I would let me finish." in a nasty tone of voice.
Now I am really hot under the collar and I told her to GET A GRIP!!! I stated that I was only finishing her statement on the amount of money. She again tried the silent treatment. I said, "I am waiting for the confirmation number Kasey." She gave it to me and said, "Thank you for calling Great Fun" and hung up.
I hope this is the end of the mess but I am holding onto the confirmation and other information till I receive the money. Hopefully this is the end of this mess.
I still intend to contact the Attorney General for both NC and PA about this company and I am contacting Thrifty Car Rentals again to tell them a thing or two of their actions. This is where it came from according to Kasey. I still have the rental agreement paperwork with Thrifty Rentals, and I didn't sign for any TLG/Great Fun.
I am also cancelling my credit card as well to make sure they don't try to charge me again, and for peace of mind.
