On October 9, I had a young lady (Jessica R.) show up at my door with the same "I'm trying to sell magazines to earn points for a trip" that apparently many others have also gotten. I finally gave in and ordered a magazine subscription for my 3 year old daughter, Family Fun Magazine.
The check cleared on October 22. As of today, I have not seen a single issue of the magazine. The sales slip offers no contact phone number to follow up on the status of the magazine. The 120 day wait period for delivery has come and gone. My patience are also gone. I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the Maryland Better Business Bureau and am writing to my local newspapers and television stations for them to spread the word.
At first, I thought I may have been an isolated case, but I have talked with a few of my nieghbors who also were scammed and have yet to receive anything. Then I come to this site and see it is a nationwide racket.
Hopefully others will see these warnings before they throw their money away to these scammers.
And to the person who will undoubtidly file a rebuttal to this, the only way I will contact you is through a toll free number. I've thrown enough money away on your company already. You aren't running my long distance bill up too. I just have no faith that you will be able to give a resolution quickly, so it won't be on my dime.
