Unknown credit card charge Rome

I am a single mom and just got my taxes done. While reviewing my account online they did a preauth at 6:30am today in the amount of $721.12. Then another charge less than an hour later for $147.67 and my bank is giving me the run around on it. Please help if you can and remember to check your accounts daily!
