I was looking to buy a home in thomasville, ga. I had been looking for a year to find the perfect place.in may '07 i found a new house for 159,000.000 4br 2bth. I thought this was a good buy for the number of rooms and was the number that i was looking for. I found this house online it was for sell by the builder jeff hendricks. I called jeff to meet with him. I went to thomasville and look at the house it was still in the process of being completed but i did like it.
Jeff told me the house would be finished by the time i moved in (i believed him). Jeff was anxious to close even though the house was not completed.
I closed on the house july 1 i told jeff that he had two weeks to finish the detailed work. I moved from al to ga. We arrived in thomasville on the 16th of july with moving truck ready to move in and the house was not complete. I was devastated, i called jeff at 11pm to find out what was going on because there was no way we could stay in the house the way it was. It was the same way we left it the day we close. I felt portrayed because i trusted jeff to do the right thing.
I have since been in this house for 4mos and jeff has still not completely finished this house. I feel like it's not a new home and as soon as he got his money from the bank he didnot care what happened next or how i felt. I called the loan officer to get help, i sent jeff hendricks a letter because i got know response from phone calls.
I still have not heard from this jeff as of today. I will send another letter but certified this time. Can someone please give me some advice? I know i made a terrible mistakes closing on the house before it was finished and now i'm learning the hard way. I also talk to some of the people next door and they have been having the same problems with this man. Can someone tell me whatelse i can do?
